Ribbon candy in mouth? Good. Ribbon candy as button band? Sad. What lovely tweedy work you have there, ma'am. My monitor is a little off. Is that yarn teal or grey?
Oh that sucks.
Are you using smaller needles for the button band? I always did, and for the ribbing too on the bottom and cuffs. That might help as it will pull in any baggy bits if you have too many stitches.
