Starting the zipper

The Frankenstein stitch using cotton DK yarn. I basted the center fronts together so that the zipper can be sewn in from the back and centered over this seam. The pattern says to do all the seaming and then put in the zipper, but I thought there would be less distortion this way - so I am putting it in before all of the seaming is finished. I dunno, here I go.

I have yet to put a zipper in anything (but one of my next "to knits" will need one) - but your logic sounds right to me. I'm anxious to see it done!

Did you have to special order your zipper?

I have never seen anyone basting the zipper in that way. I have much to learn in the wonderous world of knittingland... Very Impressive Indeed

Oh, this is going to be absolutely amazing! I'm a total loser when it comes to putting zippers into knitted garments, so I'm way impressed by how neatly you're doing yours!
