ripping. and ripping. ouch I found an error about halfway down. I did a couple of rows of the wrong stitch pattern across the left back panel. I tried dropping down and fixing it, but there were too many stitches to fix. Since I am knitting this in one piece, this meant that I had to rip across the entire cardigan. Toe-up socks knit magic-loop style in Regia sock yarn. A bit of a yawn, I know. But for me it was a milestone. I can now successfully knit myself toe-up socks that I like as much as my top-down socks. I did a slip-stitch heel flap on the bottome of the heel...and then continued the slipped stitches up the back of the heel as high as the gusset....The slipped stitches aren't that noticeable.

Trying to make stitches where there was only a gaping hole.Evidently I am guilty of sock neglect. I have joined Le Tour de Fleece. My wheel will be spinning along with the bicycle wheels of the riders on the Tour de France. My goal is simple - to spin every day of the Tour, at least 10-15 minutes. I went to the sports/outdoor store to find a line meter (for measuring yarn). Although I did not find that, I did find the perfect little box for stitchmarkers. This is made by Plano. I spun some of the sapphire blue merino on my wheel this morning. I definitely need to practice, practice, practice. This is the first time I have spun merino. It was a little slippery. I have warmed up the dye pot and started my first color. The plan is to dye one color at a time and then create the color repeats when I spin. I am starting with sapphire blue. I am blocking one of the fronts. I am surprised how much the cables relax with a short soak. I laid the two fronts side by side for comparison. The one on the left is before blocking and the one on the right is drying after a soak. It does not need pinning.

Time to correct a mistake. When I chose buttons for my cardigan, my decision was made from what was available at one store and from misguided penny-pinching. I thought the yarn was so lovely that I could afford to compromise on the buttons, but I was wrong. The buttons look muddy on the sweater.
